Elana Kaufman

Elana has had a home in Yoga since she was a child, practicing Yoga with her mother as her first teacher. She has maintained a consistent Asana practice since a young age, continuing to attend classes and practice with her mom and the local Sangha of teachers in Branford. She dove deeper into Yogic Philosophy, Ayurveda and Yoga for mental and emotional health in college, where she studied Holistic Psychology and Healing; she fell in love with the challenges, self-discoveries, and connections that emerged from practicing Yoga on and off the mat. She completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at the Expanding Light in California, focusing on the Ananda style of Hatha Yoga. She has also completed continuing education courses in Yin Yoga and Yoga for Chakra cleansing and strength. As a teacher, she enjoys holding space for exploration, relaxation, and healing.  Her devotional practice of Bhakti Yoga, prayer and chanting, has become the greatest support of her Yoga and her life and she enjoys bringing this element into her classes.
Elana is a registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance (RYT-200) as well as a Usui Reiki II level practitioner.
