Preschool Yoga Series (Children ages 3-5)

Mondays 11-11:45 am 4 week series: 3/2, 3/9, 3/16, 3/23.  Class Location: Love Tribe Center: 1008 Main St. Branford, CT.

We invite you and your child to join us for this joyful and relaxed preschool yoga series.  Each 45 minute class is designed to introduce your child to traditional elements of yoga through the developmentally appropriate and engaging practices of play. Relaxation breath work, simple poses, meditation, and mindfulness skills are nestled with intention and care within the framework of stories, music, games, and crafts.

Your child will learn to connect body and breath, regulate emotions, cultivate compassion, and develop positive interpersonal connections. Each class will harness the power of your child’s creativity as we embark on an imaginary adventure, filled with a variety of animal-inspired yoga poses, positive affirmations, and peaceful practices.

School-Age Yoga (Ages 5-10)

Wednesdays 4:45-5:30pm 4 weeks: 3/4, 3/11, 3/18, 3/25

We invite your child to join us for a 4 -class kids yoga series.
Each 45 minute class is designed to introduce your child to traditional elements of yoga through
the developmentally appropriate and engaging practices of play. Relaxation breath work,
simple poses, meditation, and mindfulness skills are nestled with intention and care within the
framework of stories, music, games, and crafts.

Children will learn to quiet their minds, as they gently and compassionately re-connect with their body and breath. As they root into the present moment, children can develop the skills they need to more effectively regulate emotions, control impulses, and develop positive interpersonal connections. Each class will harness the power of your child’s creativity as we embark on an imaginary adventure, filled with a variety of animal-inspired yoga poses, positive affirmations, and peaceful practices.

Kate is a licensed clinical social worker who incorporates her background in children’s mental
health to help students learn to gently embrace their emotions as they increase their awareness
of the connection between, mind, body and breath. Kate has extensive clinical training in the
realm of mindfulness-based practices and it was originally her embrace of mindfulness that
prompted her journey on a pathway to yoga. Kate is an RYT 200, trained in the vinyasa-style of
yoga by Bhogah Yoga owner, Brianne Barrett. Kate also recently worked under the guidance of
Brianne Barrett to earn a Yoga Alliance-Approved certification as a 95 Hour Children’s Yoga
Teacher. Additionally, Kate holds a certificate as a ChildLight Yoga Children’s Yoga and
Mindfulness Instructor. Kate is the owner of Peaceful Pause, LLC and is committed to creating
kinder, more peaceful communities by inspiring children and the adults who love them to
develop mindfulness-based practices.
