Ayurveda is the ancient and traditional healing art system of India focused on creating an optimal environment within the body for healing to take place.  The goal of Ayurveda is to support the body’s internal healing capability.
Knowledge of ways to reestablish harmony through learning to follow a healthy lifestyle appropriate to one’s constitution is offered in this class.

The five elements of nature represent the most important foundational concept in Ayurveda.

WHAT’s YOUR DOSHA, YOUR CONSTITUTIONAL TENDENCIES & STRESS TYPE?                          In this class, we will focus on your question: “What is my dosha, or, constitution?”
We may all be human but we have slightly different physiologies and emotional tendencies.

THE 4 PILLARS OF HEALTH: DIET, EXERCISE, RESTORATIVES, SPIRITThese are the 4 pillars upon which the table of one’s life is balanced and strong.
In this class, we will look at “dinacharya”, or, how to optimise the hours in each day for well being, as well as “ritucharya”, or, how to flow with the changing rhythms of nature.

Carollanne Crichton, AyT Body Therapist, Formulist, Owner at Solavedi
Carollanne is a dedicated, full-time Massage Therapist, Ayurvedic scholar, and Yoga therapist since the 80’s.
She is a popular DVD presenter (“Integrative Ayurvedic Massage”, also: “Healing Stone Massage: I & II”, DVD’s produced by Real Bodywork 2004) and published author (“Earth Medicine & Healing Stones” published by Konecky & Konecky 2006), is a contributing editor and author of numerous articles (Massage Magazine and other publications) and has a deep love for sharing the healing arts with the bodywork community in lively, accessible classroom experiences around the country.

Carollanne has built an Ayurvedic Formulary in Guilford CT (Solavedi Organics) where she crafts organic herbalised oils (thailam) for massage therapy according to recipes protected by AFI, as well as a full skincare product line based on interpreted knowledge of Ayurvedic herbal cosmetology and the dosha tendencies.


Her expertise is in integrating Ayurveda for self knowledge while remaining respectful of the fullness of Ayurveda.
