Ayurveda evolved in India about 5000 years ago and is considered to be one of the world’s oldest, continually practiced forms of healthcare. In this introductory workshop we will learn the foundational principles of “Yoga’s Sister Science” Ayurveda, and how it strives to create harmony between the body, mind, and spirit. You will begin to discover what your unique body constitution is through tridosha, Vata, Pitta and Kapha and how they relate to your own way of being in the world. Learning the foundations of this ancient practice will compliment and expand your yogic practices as well as implement routines into your life that will optimize health, including diet and lifestyle choices.
For the second portion of the workshop, we will incorporate new Ayurvedic learnings into a yoga practice that will also balance our doshas.
Lauren is a 500 hr RYT, trained in India and New York City. Lauren has taught in the fast paced classrooms of New York City, on the beach under rainbows in Maui, and in the expansive halls of Kripalu Center. Lauren found yoga through her own journey, searching for inner peace and personal healing. After embarking on this journey she realized there was no turning back and the opportunity to share yoga with others became the greatest gift. Lauren continues to study with many inspirational speakers, writers, yoga practitioners, and meditation teachers at Kripalu Center. As she continues to deepen her practice, she takes what she learns back into the classroom with a sense of curiosity, playfulness, and a deep desire to make a difference. With an approachable and calming presence, Lauren strives to make her classes relatable and inspiring. Lauren is also certified in Reiki and Ayurveda.
