Mediation for Overactive Minds with JD

4 Week Series, Mondays 7pm October 5, 12, 19, 26

In this four week meditation workshop we will practice simple and powerful techniques for quickly quieting your mind and soothing your emotions. We will explore common obstacles to meditating effectively, and how to understand and overcome them before you want to run from your cushion.  There will be opportunities to share your experience and ask personal questions to tailor your practice to your specific needs. Beginners and practiced meditators welcome!

We will cover-

Big Picture: What is meditation? How does it work? How to do you know if you’re actually doing it?

Medium Picture: Creating a sustainable practice for long-term benefit. Overcoming common obstacles.

Little Picture: Calming the mind quickly. Choosing a focus that will work for you. Keeping it simple and powerful.

JD Avallone spent more than a decade struggling with intense anxiety and depression. He found peace of mind, emotional stability and confidence in an uncertain world through the inward path of meditation. JD is a soothing presence, willing to share all of his experience with you in your process of finding balance. He has been practicing and instructing meditation for over 15 years and completed a 500 hour YTT in 2008.
