Root for Peace: Yoga & Drum
Sunday March 8, 4-5:30pm
with Sally Noel & Melinda Alcosser
Join us for a meditative healing session of yoga and live drumming. This practice will be centered around grounding into peace, and allowing this peace to flow from our hearts out into the world. With Melinda’s percussive accompaniment we will move through a soothing sequence to quiet, open, and energize our vital body.
All levels of practice will benefit and are encouraged.
After we’ve engaged our physical body with movement, posture and breath we will drum; allowing the drumming to be a meditation balm connecting us further into a shared equality of beautiful rhythms. Again no drumming experience necessary, only a willingness to be there.
This class is to honor International Women’s Day, taking place globally on March 8, 2020.
Donations of $10 or more is graciously accepted and all proceeds benefit Women & Communities in need of support.
This year proceeds will benefit Safe Women Strong Nations, working to combat violence against indigenous women. Violence and sexual violence has reached unprecedented and alarming levels compared to the national average. On tribal lands and in Alaska Native villages, more than 4 in 5 American Indian and Alaska Native women have experienced violence, and more than 1 in 2 have experienced sexual violence. This negatively impacts individuals, communities and it’s next generation.
