Sound Journey and Satsang

Sound Journey and Satsang

with Nirmal Chandraratna

Saturday May 4, 7-8:30pm

A Sound Journey is a musical experience drawing elements of ritual and sound healing together to create a dynamic, transformative environment. You are invited to connect with your intentions, both for yourself and for the world, and then let them take flight.

At the beginning of the evening, we’ll come together as a community for satsang, with the opportunity for discussion and personal sharing. We then will enter into the Sound Journey itself, weaving a tapestry of melody and mantra using layered textures of voice, cello, and percussion.

Early Bird Pricing by 4/27: $25 / $35

Nirmal regularly performs sound journeys, leads Kirtan, facilitates workshops, and hosts retreats throughout the Northeast. Nirmal began studying cello at the age of 9 and as a music major at Brown University, he decided to dedicate his life to music. After earning his Masters of Music in Composition from San Francisco Conservatory, he took a detour into the world of intentional music, particularly Kirtan— an ecstatic form of call–and–response chanting— and Sound Journeys. These musical practices perfectly matched his desire to bring both spiritual connection and audience immersion into his work.  To read more about Nirmal, please visit www.nirmalc.com.
